Kruger National Park

Plantlife

Plantlife | Trees

Welcome to the plantlife section.

Baobab TreeIn this section of Kruger Safari you will be able to find all the information on the plantlife in the Kruger National Park. For the moment only trees have been added. More plantlife will be added shortly.

For many years now the Kruger National Park has been one of the few places where the unique plantlife of the African savanna's and forests has been able to survive. Many endangered species such as the riverine plantlife have found shelter here. The South African National Parks authority has been active for years now of removing all alien plantlife in the Kruger National Park to give the local planflife a chance. Unfortunately during the floods of 2000 a great deal of riverine plantlife was severely damaged but hopefully nature will recover itself soon. A great amount has been raised in funds to help the South African National Parks board to succeed in their efforts towards preserving the Kruger National Park.

Thanks to the vision of a great man, the president of the free republic of the Transvaal, the national park named after Paul Kruger has been preserved. In the near future hopefully the governments of both Zimbabwe and Mozambique will be able to combine their interest in nature with the republic of South Africa. Thus creating an even greater area of Africa's amazing nature.

Please feel welcome to explore this plantlife section.
